Author's note

Octuple max is a typographic experiment where all the proportions and measures of the characters and metrics are multiples of the number eight. The result is a very steep typography of square proportion with a great contrast between the horizontal/vertical horns and rounded in all corners.

I started with an inclination of 32 for all the letters, then I built a grid with horizontal divisions of 48/u of height, so I defined the height of the x: 4811=528/u, the height of the capitals and ascenders: 4816=768/u, the descending ones: 484=192/u and the baseline of the diacritical accents: 4817=816/u.
